5月12日，我国四川省汶川地区发生8.0级特大地震，严重的灾情受到国内外广泛关注。5月15日，欧盟法院前法官、汉堡大学客座教授、现中欧法学院欧方工作小组成员Ninon Colneric教授发来邮件，代表欧方的同事向我国人民及我校全体师生致以深切的慰问。

信函内容如下（原文附后）：

亲爱的朋友们：

尽管汉堡风和日丽，我仍禁不住一次又一次想起那些遭遇地震的你们的同胞。我从小在矿区长大，抢救那些被掩埋了的生命的情景仍历历在目。但这场发生在四川的灾难，超出了我的想象。我真的希望你们和你们的家人、朋友都安然无恙。

如果你们的任何一个学生由于此次地震而背负沉重经济负担，恳请你们告诉我。我将尽力资助他们，继续学业。

致以深切的祝福。

Dear friends,

It is a beautiful day in Hamburg. However, again and again, I must think of your compatriots hit by the earthquake. Coming from a mining area I know the fight for the lifes of those who are enclosed somewhere down there. But the dimensions of the desaster in Sichuan are beyond my imagination.I do hope that your families and friends are not affected and that you yourselves are safe and sound.

If one of your students is in serious financial difficulties because of the catastrophe, please, let me know. I’ll help so that he or she can go on studying.
